Bob Marley
Bob Marley is famous for his peace and love-inspired Reggae music, which he used to spread messages of compassion and harmony throughout the world. He was a Rastafarian icon for world peace and tolerance, with millions of followers around the globe. Marley helped to bring people together during a time when racial integration in America was still relatively new. Bob Marley was diagnosed with skin cancer in 1977.
After Marley’s death, his appearance was altered to emphasize his health and fight the sickness. This photograph was taken shortly after he succumbed to cancer. He is still thought of as a figure of worldwide peace and a musical legend today.
