The Weekend Is Coming: What We Were Doing Then Versus What We’re Doing Now

October 10, 2011 by Jade Parker

Making Sweet Rage Comics

Just a little over a decade ago, the internet found a new way to share stories of relatable feels through comics featuring a cast of characters with unforgettable faces and a penchant for overusing the French word “le.” We knew these as rage comics, and they were easy to cobble together during our downtime with online generators.

Like most popular things on the internet, rage comics hit their peak and then died down, making an occasional appearance in other memes. We now have so many meme formats that flood our timelines that we wear them out within a matter of days, but we’ll always identify with the oddly accurate ragers of the early 2010s even if we’re busy making other dank memes.
