Magazine Mania
Going all the way back to the 1940s, you could find weekend sleepovers with girls huddled around their favorite teen magazine, thumbing through the pages to find the cutest pictures of their celebrity crushes and reading the anonymous advice columns for the stuff they were too embarrassed to ask about on their own.
A few teen magazines still exist, but most have been replaced by the internet. Now, if we want to know if that smell is normal or who our favorite actor is dating, we whip out our phones for a quick google, freeing up time to test out YouTube makeup tutorials or peep our frenemy’s Facebook with friends before retiring to our own house to sleep into Sunday.
