I Don’t Want To Grow Up; I’m A Toys R Us Kid
There was something enchanting about going to the toy store on the weekend with the spoils of our piggy banks that we patiently waited to crack open. It was when we finally got to see whether the fantasy sold to us through timeless TV jingles and flashy commercials held up in real life or if the real deal was just a dud.
Unfortunately, many of the toy stores we loved as kids have gone bankrupt. Nowadays, we’re more likely to be shopping for toys for our own kids instead of ourselves. Rather than spending weekends being shuttled to the stores to fight the lines for the newest toy, we’re a few phone taps away from ordering whatever the kids saw on tv 10 seconds ago directly to our doorstep.
