What Cruise Ships Are Really Like From the Passengers’ Point of View

May 30, 2023 by Adriana Matthews

The age range – expectations

Once again, Hollywood sets up impossible standards. On TV, cruises always seem like the ultimate vacation for a group of friends and the ideal place to meet new and exciting people. They show us young men and women enjoying their spring break in style, sitting on deck drinking cocktails, hanging out by the poolside, and having a good time.

Hollywood has ruined this experience for us. We expect a cruise to be full of people our age, young families and young people who are there to party and have a good time, just like us, but that’s not always the case. Truth is, cruises are an appealing attraction for elderly people (perhaps they’re too expensive for the younger generation).
