Parents of older kids are often wondering how in the world they can find ways to spend happy times together. It seems many families struggle to maintain a bond during the teen years. While this is completely normal, you see the teen is supposed to start pushing away to some extent and the parent is supposed to be letting go a little at this point in childhood. While your teenager still needs you, and you still need your teen, it’s not easy to navigate the murky waters of raising a teenager.
I got lucky. We have always been a very close-knit family. We have our issues. We have our bad days. We have regular family problems. But at the end of the day, we would have each other’s back in a heartbeat and the kids, even though they’re almost 17, 13 and 11 years of age, will still listen to their Mama Bear when it comes to making time to do something together.
The two things that seem to work well in this family for bonding with your older kids is board games and movie night. That’s why I love the idea of sharing a list of the best family board games today with you. These are board games that will work well for some laughter and fun with your older kids, even if they don’t admit they’re having fun.

Quality Family Time
Spending time together as a family strengthens your family bond and helps your kids grow up in a positive environment. Board games are a great way to reduce stress and keep a sense of happiness in the home.
When you make it an intention to spend quality family time together, your kids will grow up to feel valued and have higher self-esteem. It’s been shown time and time again that families who play together, stay together.
One of the simplest ways to enjoy quality family time together is to partake in an activity that’s fun for all ages. That’s why I highly recommend opting to host a family game night with your favorite family-friendly board games.
I’ve created a list of the best family board games to play with older kids as well as the best family board games to play with younger kids. This will allow families of every type to enjoy some quality family time together over a fun hour or two of game playing.
