Which Season is Best for Camping?

Summer

Summer is that the preferred season for camping due to the fact that the weather is usually warm and dry. The drawback is that campsites will become very crowded throughout the summer months. Winter

Some individuals notice winter camping to be satisfying due to the extra challenges concerned, compared with summer. Benefits of Camping in the Winter

  • Fewer chances of flies, mosquitoes, snakes or bears to stress you out.
  • Winter campgrounds can possibly be sparsely occupied, more quiet and cheaper.

Don’t forget that there are potential dangers one must be ready for, like massive clumps of snow dropping from branches overhead. Yet, with sensible planning, you’ll still enjoy the slower pace of winter camping.

Fall

Fall camping is turning into a popular option for family campers. Nature can indeed be stunning during this season. With fewer people and insects to hassle you, camping within the fall may be the best choice for you. The one thing our family found out is that up in New England, fall camping is more expensive and books quickly. It’s fall foliage season so the few campgrounds that remain open are usually booked solid and have higher price points.

Spring

During the spring season, the snow is slowly melting away and you’ll be itching to travel outdoors and revel in nature once the long, cold winter is over. The fish are spawning and the ducks are returning.  You can go hiking, canoeing or stand-up paddleboarding, fishing, and swimming. Don’t forget to take your waterproof camera, too, there should be lots of unforgettable sights to capture!

Benefits of Taking Kids Camping

Nature promotes healthy lifestyles and reduces stress for all ages. Kids who were raised to go camping during various times of the year are more independent and more apt to have a higher level of imagination as well as feel more confident about themselves.

While many kids are being raised in this screen culture, taking a pause to go tent camping with kids can provide them with many life lessons and experiences for a positive future.

If kids grow old disconnected from nature, then it stands to reason that they’ll place less worth on the natural world, and that’s unhealthy news as a way as preserving our countryside.

A view echoed by George Monbiot writing for the Guardian, who recently said that if kids lose their connection to the natural world, they merely won’t fight for it.

In conclusion, each of the four seasons offers its own distinctive and exciting challenges. Keep in mind that, when you are camping, you’re managing the wild. Be sure to understand the essential survival skills so you’ll confidently apply them once required. Stay alert and, as always, be prepared when you go camping with kids.
