It was very important that women had the skill to sew in order to mend, and create garments for their soon-to-be husbands and children. But we have a feeling that Emma here didn’t enjoy sewing class, not one bit. Rebellion looks different at every stage in life, and in 1877 Emma certainly knew how to rebel.
