John Lennon
In the 1960s, The Beatles were untouchable in terms of success. They were bigger than any band before them, and their level of fame was unprecedented. John Lennon was probably the most famous member of the group and, sadly, also the one who lost his life to an assassination. Gunned down outside his home in New York City when he was just 40 years old, Lennon’s death left a massive mark on music history.
The man responsible, Mark David Chapman, supposedly did it because he didn’t approve of John’s lifestyle or views. Even in Lennon’s last photo ever taken, Chapman is right behind him after asking for an autograph earlier that day.
