We’re entering the season of family camping. This is the time of year when families all over the region invest in some camping tents, RV’s, or some other camper option to go family camping. The problem with family camping is that most forget these simple family camping hacks to make life easier!
Today we’re sharing some of our favorite family camping hacks to help you survive out there in the wilderness with your family this camping season.

Arrive Before Dark
We can’t even begin to explain how important this family camping hack is! You’ll want to arrive early and have plenty of time to get familiar with the camping site. This means arriving at your campsite before dark. This allows you ample time to get the family settled, tents set up, and find where all of the amenities are at the campground.
Use Glow Sticks
Glow sticks are relatively cheap and simple to use for many reasons while you’re camping with your family. You can use glow sticks as a night light, necklaces to know where your kids are, and so many other simple reasons. Make sure you invest in a large package of glow sticks before heading out to the campsite.
Use Your Car For Storage
Everything from keeping firewood underneath your car to keep it dry to putting food or trash inside your car (in a bag) will help keep things running smoothly. These family hacks will often keep the wildlife from getting into your campsite, as the trash for the night will be in a bag in the car. Plus using the underneath of your vehicle to keep firewood dry from rain is an excellent way to ensure your firewood doesn’t get ruined.
Bring Blankets
Don’t forget about the blankets! There will be some colder nights while you’re out there family camping. Having extra layers of clothing and many blankets on hand will allow your family to stay warm during the colder nights of summer.
Get Cooking Supplies
You’ll need to gather some cooking supplies that are meant for cooking over an open fire. Cooking over your fire during the family camping trip is one of our favorite parts of family camping. This freshly cooked food will taste delicious, as long as you bring the right cooking supplies for open-fire cooking!

Before you leave the house to hit the road to enjoy a family camping trip, make sure you have read these family camping hacks and know what to bring along. Knowing that you have every possible item needed before you leave the house for your camping trip will be the difference between a great time and a good time camping with your family.
