#12: Short Stature
A complex interplay of genetic factors determines our height, and it’s not entirely accurate to attribute short stature solely to the mother’s side. Height, both tall and short, results from the combined genetic contributions of both parents. While it’s true that specific genes related to height can be inherited from either parent, it’s overly simplistic to claim that the “short gene” is solely passed through the mother’s genetics.

Height is a multifactorial trait influenced by numerous genes. Evolutionary history has shaped the height differences between genders, with men typically being taller due to their roles as protectors and providers. However, it’s important to note that height is a continuum, and individuals may vary in height regardless of their gender or familial genetic influences. Naturally, factors like nutrition and other environmental variables also play a role in determining a person’s height. So eat your vegetables!
