#9: Fat Storage
If you find that you’re having a hard time losing weight, you may have your parents to blame for that. How an individual stores fat in their body is a highly variable and unique trait, often inherited from their parents. Surprisingly, fat storage patterns are predominantly influenced by genetic factors passed down from the father’s side. This means that if your father has a tendency to store fat predominantly in his stomach area, there’s a good chance you may inherit a similar pattern.

Conversely, if your father has a slim physique, you are more likely to have a similar fat distribution. While genetics do play a significant role in our body and our ability to lose or gain weight, it’s crucial to remember that environmental factors, lifestyle choices, and diet also influence fat storage—and we can’t take the easy route and blame it all on our parents.
