Hacks to Eat Healthier With Kids

January 12, 2023 by jessica Creger

Eating healthy is essential for everyone, but especially for kids who are growing and developing. However, getting children to eat healthy can be a challenge. With busy schedules and picky palates, it can seem impossible to get your family to eat nutritious meals every day. But don’t worry – there are some easy hacks that you can use to make sure your kids are getting the nutrients they need without compromising on taste or convenience.

From meal planning tips to tricks for sneaking in veggies, these hacks will help you create healthier meals that both parents and kids will love!

1. Get your kids involved with meal planning. Ask them to help you make a grocery list or plan out their meals for the week. Not only will this give them a sense of control, but it may even encourage them to try new foods that they wouldn’t otherwise consider.

2. Make breakfast fun and nutritious! Start the day off right with whole-grain cereals and oatmeal topped with fresh fruit and nuts, yogurt parfaits, smoothies made from milk and frozen fruits, or scrambled eggs loaded with veggies like peppers and spinach.

3. Pack lunches that are both satisfying and healthy by including plenty of protein in the form of lean meats or beans as well as whole grains. Add in some vegetables, such as carrots and celery with a dip, fruit, and nuts for a balanced meal.

4. Get creative with dinner ideas by making healthier versions of family favorites like pizzas and tacos. Use whole-wheat crusts or tortillas instead of white flour, top your pizza with plenty of veggies, and take advantage of lean meats like chicken or turkey in tacos.

5. Incorporate vegetables into snacks like hummus served with raw veggies or spinach artichoke dip paired with pita chips. You can also puree vegetables and add them to soups or sauces to give your dishes an extra dose of nutrition without sacrificing flavor.

With these hacks, you’ll be well on your way to creating healthy meals that your family will actually enjoy. Don’t be afraid to experiment and get creative in the kitchen – it’s all part of the fun! Good luck!
