#1: Lawless Trials
The Salem Witch Trials famously took place in the late 1600s in Massachusetts. During these trials, over the course of a few months, over 200 people were accused of witchcraft. Thirty people were found guilty, nineteen of whom were executed by hanging.

The thing is, none of the people who were executed for their alleged crimes (which included fourteen women and five men) actually confessed to any of these crimes. For whatever reason, the people who did confess weren’t included on that list.
