#19: The Timberline Lodge Ski Resort, Oregon, 1951-1953
Is there anything more enjoyable than riding in a cable car? The feeling of being suspended so high up in the air whilst being carried along by some sort of vessel is a lot of fun. Similar to other forms of transport, the cable car can get you from A to B, but some have a little extra flair…
What would you say to ride in this old, inactive bus like a cable car at a ski resort? Sure, it seems a little bit scary, but the vibes are there! Back in the day, spots on the bus were $1 as opposed to paying 20 cents for a regular bus. This cable car was only open from 1951-1953, however, from the insistence of tourists, it reopened and was active until the mid-1960s.
