Shailene Woodley
The actress who played Amy Juergens on ABC’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Shailene Woodley, has been pretty vocal about her distaste of fame. Back in 2012, she told an iVIllage reporter how ironic it is that celebrities with all the money in the world receive free stuff just for being famous.
She further explained that words like celebrity, famous, and star rub her the wrong way. She replaces them with phrases like “the C-word” or “the F-word,” to make them sound as disgusting to other people as they do to her. As an activist, she’s used her influent to shed light on important issues, but it seems like she still has a long way to change the public’s perception of celebrities.
