Traffic Light Shades
Before you even try to answer, we know that we’re looking at a traffic light. But those vertical lines in front of each light? Is there something wrong with our computer monitors or can you see them, too? Good, it’s not just us then. Well, it’s time to ask the internet for their take on what these lines are and what they do.
According to one guy who knows quite a lot about traffic lights, these are called traffic light shades or fins. They supposedly help motorists see which of the lights is on during the daytime. Without them, all three lights could appear active when viewed from certain angles.
