If you’ve done business online before, you’re probably familiar with all of the various ways a discussion can go. It’s fantastic if you manage to sell something before getting so far that they aren’t serious about purchasing it. But if you get so deep into the conversation and discover they aren’t interested, that’s awful.
And you feel taken advantage of when someone approaches you and appears committed to a product and then says they cannot pay you at the last minute. You didn’t just waste your time talking to them but also had to locate someone else to buy your goods.
