Every parent wants to hear their child say his or her first words. Children start making random noises at around the age of three to four months. Around the age of twelve months, they begin repeating sounds they hear. And it turns out that Arial’s first words were precisely the phrases Maya had been waiting so long to hear.
Maya is clearly taken aback by how much baby Arial adores her. After all, the first word out of her tiny mouth was “Mama,” as we know. It’s also possible that Maya heard random noises that she mistook for mama.
