It’s no secret that teenagers tend to be reckless drivers (and sometimes reckless passengers) in the sense that they often text or talk on the phone while driving, they don’t wear a seatbelt and they go above the speed limit. Of course, that’s a wild generalization, but it happens more often among young drivers.
So, ads, commercials, and road signs are put in place to remind teenagers of the importance of road safety. In this case, someone tried to speak to teenagers in their own language and it completely backfired. Writing “buckling up is totes yeet yo” on the highway is not cool. What does it even mean? Honestly, this person is right – it’s almost impossible to drive by this sign and not take a picture.
