Times People Trusted Their Gut Feeling, and it Proved to Be the Right Move

August 15, 2010 by Molly Reynolds

Have you ever had the feeling that something wasn’t quite right? Maybe you decided to wait a few minutes to leave the house or drive to work on a different route, then later heard about an accident. Perhaps you picked up the phone and called a friend you hadn’t spoken to in years only to find out that they had recently lost someone dear to them. These gut feelings can’t be explained, but somehow, they prove themselves time after time. Below, you’ll find dozens of stories of inexplicable intuition kicking in at just the right moment to save the day, from a girl obsessed with tsunamis who saved an entire resort to a brother who decided to follow his sibling and saved him from drowning. After reading these, you might spend more time listening to that little voice in your head or that feeling in your chest. Who knows, you just might save your life or someone else’s!

#1: Mom Knows Best

We already know that our moms know best, but in this case, this mom really did know something no one else did. There is no way this mom knew what would happen, but she saved the lives of her entire family. It doesn’t sound like she told the family not to go, but they decided to do something different that day based on her instincts. I’m glad they did so!

I personally think everyone has a smidge of premonition in them. It wasn’t their time to go, and mom was gifted with that tiny bit of insight to ensure the entire family didn’t perish. I bet they still talk about it frequently and listen to her when she has another feeling!
