We don’t know a lot about turtles, but we know that we like them a lot. In pop culture, they’re often a symbol of patience and taking things slowly in the race that we call life, which is probably one of the reasons why people like turtles so much. Other than that, there’s something very sweet and endearing about them, although we can’t really put our finger on it.

On the other hand, sharks are the opposite of turtles in many ways: they aren’t cute and peaceful, but they’re rather frightening. They often appear in horror films and we learn to be cautious of them. Dressing a turtle like a shark is a great costume since they are so different: Halloween is all about being something different, and this costume is so ridiculous that it’s funny.
