It’s What’s On The Inside That Counts
This was a perfectly normal-looking orange from the outside, but when it was cut in half, our Redditor found the peel was as thick as the outside of a house. So much for making fresh orange juice in the morning. Luckily, this orange can be used for other culinary creations.
While this orange isn’t the best candidate for juice, the peel can be grated into a zest for salad toppings or dessert. Some people prefer to toss their orange skins into smoothies to take advantage of the wealth of nutrients inside including vitamins C and B6, calcium, folate, and fiber.
