Things Everyone Loves That We’re Afraid To Admit We Hate

August 14, 2012 by Jade Parker

We Aren’t Making This Up

Judging by this Redditors username, we suspect they might be trolling, but I’m entertaining this because it’s a polarizing opinion. Social media serves us new makeup trends almost daily, clogging our feeds with the newest way to contour, blend, and line our face parts, but many are tired of it, claiming the fuss-free, no makeup look is better than faking different features and painting faces with unnatural colors.

Beauty gurus and their followers often clap back, reminding the anti-cosmetic crowd that many who look makeup-free are still wearing minimal amounts of product. They also defend it as a therapeutic art form because those razor-sharp eyeliner wings and perfectly blended brows take practice. Are you Team Au-naturel or Team Baked and Beat?
