Alright, we’ll be honest with you. If we saw one of these battery-powered candles, we’d probably wonder why lighting the wick wouldn’t work. This is literally the first time we’ve heard or seen this product. Do people actually buy these things?

Anyway, it took the OP’s three aunts far too long to figure out that matches wouldn’t work. They ruined the plastic top with the matches’ heat, leaving a dark residue that probably almost ruined the candle. Still, this guy should’ve told his aunts what it was and how to work it. Be a good nephew. Don’t be like this guy.
