There are a lot of things that employers shouldn’t object to, the death of someone being on top of the list followed by medical emergencies. Yet, most employers are unwilling to let their employees take some days off in both of these cases.
Unexpectedly, this man had both high-priority emergencies at the same time; the death of their mother and a positive school-going son. If the employer was a parent himself, then there is no way he was able to reject the leave for that employee.
