Overprotective
Mothers and their sons have a unique connection. The day your son gets married is usually when this special tie is broken for most mothers. They will be somehow replaced (even if you can’t replace your mother). Moms want their children to be happy, and they want them to find love with someone who will bring out the best in them.
When mothers let their kids go off and get married, they may be overly cautious of them. A mother-in-law loathed her son’s bride so much that she addressed him the day before the wedding to warn him, got out of her seat during the ceremony in tears, then sent a horrid email to the bride the next day. It would help if you allowed your children to make their own decisions as adults, regardless of how much you adore them.
