When it comes to shopping around for your first home, you tend to get a little excited about all of the potential possibilities. You start to think about all the cool places you could live if you just let loose a little bit and kept an open mind. But when you’re spending that much money, remaining level-headed is probably a good thing.
Sure, below-street-level houses might be cool, but do you know what else is cool? Not having your entire home flooded by a rainstorm or a burst pipe on the street. We know it might look like a beautiful place to live in the movies, but we aren’t sure that it is the safest investment to make.
