Allan Hughes and Albert Hughes
The Hughes brothers, Albert and Allen, are filmmakers and producers in the film and television industries. “Dead Presidents,” “American Pimp,” and “The Book of Eli” are just a few examples of their work in the dark and violent cinema genre. Allen Hughes also directed his own film, titled ‘New York, I Love You.’
All three Hughes brothers were born and raised in the Detroit metropolitan area, as were their parents. When they were twelve years old, their supporting mother presented them with a video camera so that they could record their memories. When the males were younger, they used to spend their leisure time with their friends making videos for them to watch later. While still in high school, the brothers opted to pursue directing gigs rather than obtain a bachelor’s degree. They were seniors at the time. When they first started out, they collaborated with musicians like Tupac Shakur and Tone Loc, directing music videos for them. Later in their careers, they went on to direct their own feature films of their own creation. Since 2004, Albert has been a permanent resident of the Czech Republic. The existence of this “bizarre dance” between him and his brother was confirmed by him in 2013. I hope they’ve been able to resolve their differences in the best interests of their partnership.
