Martin Scorsese
You would think that making a movie about the Chinese army invading Tibet would get you banned for life with absolutely no chance of revoking that decision. But somehow legendary director Martin Scorsese managed to pull that one off and was allowed back into the country years after his film ‘Kundun’ came out.
The movie literally takes place around the invasion of Tibet, a time that the Chinese government does not want anyone revisiting or remembering if they do not have to. Martin would later make the movie ‘Hugo’ and it seemed like all was forgotten and he was able to enter the country to promote it.
