Meryl Streep
Legendary actress Meryl Streep started off as a cheerleader for Bernards High School. While at school, Meryl performed in several plays, but she didn’t seriously pursue an acting career until the play Miss Julie came out in 1969. From then on, she was steadfast in her goal of becoming an actress.
Many of her schoolmates said she was so passionate while wearing her mini skirt and pompoms, but she knew early on that that life wasn’t for her. And we’re grateful that she decided to leave athletics altogether. Otherwise, we never would’ve gotten to see her in Kramer vs. Kramer, The Devil Wears Prada, The Iron Lady, and countless other movies that earned her innumerable nominations.
