Wasting Food
Us Americans are not known for our modest portion sizes, but 40% seems excessive. It’s like we’re taking all the resources that go into producing food – the land, the water, the energy – and just tossing them in the trash. Dumping food in the trash is not just a waste of resources.
It’s also a huge waste of money too. I don’t know about you, but I’m on a budget and can’t afford to throw away perfectly good food. Maybe it’s time we all start thinking about reducing our food waste and stretching our grocery budgets a little further to prevent major waste.
