46th Place – Alabama
Unfortunately, WalletHub’s report had a great deal of unfavorable information for the Heart of Dixie. The state achieved a low ranking of 46th overall in the realm of education, as well as 46th for school security, 43rd for reading scores, 42nd for student-teacher ratios, and 42nd for quality of education.
These dismal ratings for educational attainment also have a detrimental effect on Alabama’s overall reputation in the United States. According to US News and World Report’s 2019 ranking of the best and worst states to live in, Alabama was placed at a dismal 49th place. Despite its fascinating history, the state appears to be lagging behind in terms of equality.
