This person knew what to look for in an ATM before using it, and one of the most tell-tale signs that the ATM has been rigged is a wobbly card reader. A light tug of the reader immediately released the scammer’s toy, leaving the ATM safe for all subsequent users.

ATM skimmers are inexpensive items that you can purchase online. They look just like normal card readers but are designed to steal information along the magnetic strip. Thankfully, our hawk-eyed hero was able to remove the skimmer and save countless others from falling into a classic trap.
