It’s All an Illusion
Anyone who has visited a Disney park knows that they are masters of illusion. When you enter the park, you are transported to another world that seems magical and perfect. The picture-worthy buildings on the grounds are no exception. If you’ve ever walked by Sleeping Beauty’s castle, you’ve probably been awestruck at how big it is. Well, it turns out that the buildings are not as big as you might think…
The brilliant engineers at Disney designed a trick into a lot of these buildings to make them appear taller and more grand. They are built with smaller bricks towards the top of the building, creating the optical illusion that they are much taller. The buildings on Main Street are also built with a neat trick. They’re three stories high, but the second and third levels are shorter than the first.
