Ernest Scared Us Stupid
The 80s and 90s had a total disregard for the concept of stranger danger. The kids in Ernest Scared Stupid were hanging out with a 40-year old garbage man in the woods. Where were their parents? Luckily, Ernest wasn’t a bad guy, but as an adult, he probably shouldn’t have enlisted schoolchildren to fight the evil troll he unleashed on the city.
The slimy troll that turned everyone into wooden figurines looked like the mutated remains of the vegetables you forgot about in your crisper drawer three months ago. The idea of defeating it with unconditional love made our insides curdle when Ernest danced with it and planted a fat, juicy kiss on its face.
