When You Can’t See The Sights You Came to See
They don’t call California The Golden State for its stereotypically sunny days. It earned the moniker for its abundance of natural gold and the beautiful golden poppies that bloom every spring. Fog, rain, and clouds still exist down south, even when we’re California dreamin’ for the perfect vacation photos to post on Instagram.
Erendizates traveled a long way to take in the marvelous Golden Gate Bridge only to find it hidden in the fog. Summer is the foggiest season around the bridge because hot inland air makes for low-pressure, inviting cold ocean air to push it out of the way. The bridge is still partially visible in foggy weather thanks to its special International Orange paint that gives it contrast in lousy weather.
