Birds Nesting in Pike’s Mouth
The pike, also known as the esox, is a carnivorous freshwater fish in the genus Esox. On its own, this predator’s razor-sharp teeth make it dangerous. The pike has made a home in this bird’s mouth. Because it is in a tree, it implies that its body may have been washed ashore by a flood and that a predator consumed its flesh before hanging it there.
With the teeth functioning as a useful form of protection against predators, it’s a fantastic structure for a nest. It may have been kept in the tree by locals who enjoy fish bones. They just hang them up and wait for birds to pick off the carcass, leaving only the bone.
