Dame Nature Enjoys Nothing More Than Showing Off Just How Formidable She Can Be

This is, in fact, a pleasant connection. We can thank a previous Wildlife Photographer of the Year for this once-in-a-lifetime shot. Yongqing Bao, a Chinese photographer, was fortunate to capture the marmot’s frightening encounter with the ferocious Tibetan fox. It appears terrified, with its jaws parted wide and almost screaming, “Oh dear.”

The Tibetan sand fox vigorously chases the marmot across the barren land. Its fur seems to be standing as it attempts to flee from the Tibetan sand fox. It is native to the Qinghai Tibetan plateau, and there are no other regions where it is scarce. Was hoping for a happy ending? Other marmots attempted to divert the fox, but without success.
