Do you know anyone who has a landline phone other than your grandparents these days? These location-locked phones are mostly gone, thanks to cell phones becoming ubiquitous. Most of us rely on our smartphones for everything, so a landline’s extra cost and upkeep have become unnecessary. 

There are some things to miss about landline phones. Answering machines, three-way calling, and listening in on another phone in the house are all things of the past. Sure, we can create our own customized voicemail messages on our iPhones.
