#24: Call Me, Beep Me, If You Want to Reach Me
Do you know anyone who has a landline phone other than your grandparents these days? These location-locked phones are mostly gone, thanks to cell phones becoming ubiquitous. Most of us rely on our smartphones for everything, so a landline’s extra cost and upkeep have become unnecessary.
There are some things to miss about landline phones. Answering machines, three-way calling, and listening in on another phone in the house are all things of the past. Sure, we can create our own customized voicemail messages on our iPhones. But it’s not the same as recording a silly message for your landline and listening back 100 times to make sure it sounds perfect.
