The concept of a career has changed wildly in the last few decades. Back when our parents were younger, it was normal to snag a job and stay with that same company for decades. Nowadays, working in the same place for more than five years seems out of this world. What’s the point when you can hop over to another company that pays you way more?
Older people may sneer at the way younger people jump from job to job, but staying with one company is reallyn’t worth it anymore. Most big corporations barely offer retirement plans and adequate health insurance. Plus, many places don’t give out raises and bonuses like they used to. Why stay at a job that prefers to cut corners instead of taking care of its employees’ well-being?
