The Unexpected and Controversial Rise of MrBeast to YouTube Superstardom

Together with fellow YouTuber Mark Rober, MrBeast has launched a fundraising challenge under the hashtag #TeamTrees, with the aim of raising $20 million for the Arbor Day Foundation by the beginning of 2020. All of the money was donated to a foundation that said it would use it to plant a tree for every dollar it received.

Jeffree Star, PewDiePie, and JackSepticEye were just a few of the well-known influencers who took part in the challenge. Other prominent figures in the tech industry, such as Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey, also took note and contributed to the cause. The campaign successfully raised $20 million on December 19^th, and the foundation is now planting trees to reach the 20 million target.
