The Unexpected and Controversial Rise of MrBeast to YouTube Superstardom

Maddy Spidell’s photos of a trip with another man sparked rumors of an unannounced breakup. Although they never confirmed their split publicly, by August 2022, MrBeast had moved on to a new girlfriend, fellow Twitch streamer Thea Booysen, whom he introduced to his followers on Instagram.

MrBeast said he put Thea “through the wringer” by asking her a lot of questions before they started dating in an episode of the “FLAGRANT” podcast. Later, Thea said that being with MrBeast was “like a movie,” and she revealed that he had indeed questioned her upon their first meeting, which took place in a club in her home country of South Africa.
