Time capsules are a popular way for people to communicate with anyone in the future who might open them to learn more about what life was like when the capsule was buried. We don’t know when the practice started, but some of the earliest capsules date back to the 1700s.
If there’s one thing 90s kids would want to tell future generations about, it’s Pokémon. u/ThistleHound didn’t care about preserving Pokémon; they wanted to enjoy it in the moment, even if it meant robbing another kid’s time capsule. Hopefully the victim was able to replace their rare card without spending the thousands of dollars some Pokémon cards still command today.
