Venice, Italy
Venice is one of the most romantic cities of Italy that was built on over 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. What makes Venice a unique city is the fact that there are no roads, just canals, which includes the Grand Canal thoroughfare, which is lines along with Renaissance and Gothic architecture.
No matter when in the year you go to Venice, you’ll have to go on one of the boats rides through the canals. But on Christmas, you’ll also want to catch lights that flourish through the old buildings, bridges, and gondolas. On Christmas Eve, the Venetians dine on fish and gather at the historic Saint Mark’s Basilica for midnight Mass.
