Deploy Countermeasures
Have you ever pondered what would happen if the enemy spotted a submarine? An alarm will go off in seconds, signaling that torpedoes are closing in on the vessel. Fortunately, everything isn’t lost. The US Navy has created countermeasures specifically to foil incoming torpedos.
The “Mobile Submarine Simulator,” or MOSS, is a decoy sonar that tricks other ships by imitating the acoustic signature of a real submarine. It was first used by Navy ballistic submarines in 1976 and continued to be deployed until the 1990s.
