You probably know Antarctica as one giant glacier that is home to penguins! Who doesn’t love penguins? Well, let’s learn more about their primary resident. There are many reasons Antarctica is so different from the rest of the world, but what it does have in common with the other six continents is that it has a series of time zones, as shown in this map.

It’s not surprising that there would be time zones across the continent if you really think about it. Antarctica’s landmass is even greater than that of the United States. Antarctica is also the only continent where for six months the sun never rises and for six months it never sets.
