Shakespeare for Kids
Hamlet is one of the most popular plays written by William Shakespeare, so much so, that even if you aren’t a fan of the genre, you must be familiar with the plot – a young man believes his uncle is responsible for his father’s tragic death, as part of his attempt to seize the throne and marry his mother.
In a similar way, The Lion King is one of Disney’s most popular films, and the plot has some startling similarities. For starters, it revolves around a young prince who loses his father early on and blames the tragic death on his sneaky uncle – the film’s protagonist. Directors of the film insist the Disney-favorite wasn’t based on the infamous play, but they admit they might have borrowed some elements.
