Donkey Nannies
Twitter user “Nerd Girl Says” was surprised to learn that in Italy, farmers used to transport newborn lambs inside donkey saddles, and those donkeys were appropriately referred to as “donkey nannies.” We don’t know a lot about sheep, but we think they look pleased with this arrangement.

Since the newborn lambs are too young and fragile to make the journey on their own, farmers often transport them from high pastures to lower plain areas using donkeys – in their saddles. If that’s not the sweetest thing you’ll see today, I don’t know what is.
