The Dog Faced Boy
The incredible story of the dog faced boy started in 1884 Russia. The boy’s real name was Fyodor Yevtishchev, and he suffered from a hereditary disease that manifested in excessive hair growth all over his body. He was discovered living in the woods with his family, and was sold off to fames circus owner P.T. Barnum, who presented him in his circus shows as the “Dog Faced Boy”.
Yevtishchev had to bark at the visitors, and stay in a cage for the duration of the presentation. The Circus owner even dressed him in a Russian military uniform to make his appearance even more terrifying. Yevtishchev passed away in 1904, from pneumonia.
